Milestones
TRADITIONAL CACHE
Our first ever cache was a traditional cache, GC1MD5V Outta Sight which happened to be less than 200m down the road from our house.
100th CACHE
To reach our 100th geocache, Kevsteam went hard out in the Bucklands Beach area and found our most ever finds in a day – 21 on Easter Sunday (4th April 2010). Our 100th cache was the last of the day. It was getting dark and luckily it was an easy find GC1CRPR A place to remember (Auckland)
EARTH CACHE
On the way down to Mount Maunganui we stopped in at Waihi for our first earth cache, GC1G06V Martha Gold and Silver Mine (Waihi)
VIRTUAL CACHE
Coincidentally our first virtual cache was the same for our first earth cache (nice and easy!). GC367B It’s not mine, it’s Martha’s (Bay of Plenty)
MULTI CACHE
Our first multi cache was also an international cache (partnered up with someone in the UK). GEMYWH Over the Pole, South to North (Bay of Plenty).
WEB CACHE
While holidaying at Mount Maunganui we did our first web cache GCKJWJ Moturiki View and you too (Bay of Plenty).
FIRST FIND
We have tried for a couple but always too slow! This Friday, 7th May 2010, while sitting at home we received the email that a new cache was placed in Greenhithe, a short trip from our house, GC27Q2J The 39 Steps – the book, now in reality!. We were the first there but after 5 minutes of looking, Rosmar joined us. We all looked and in no time Rosmar found the cache, but claimed it as a joint find with Kevsteam. We won’t complain and will take the honour of being a joint 1st find! We still hope to get an official “First Find” but it sure is a tough market up here in Auckland!
